A BRIEF HISTORY

Generations Church launched on November 4, 2006 with a VISION to reconcile people to Jesus and close the gaps between the generations in church ministry. Pastor Ed said, “In considering pioneering a church in Lubbock (my home town) my thoughts were . . . Another church in Lubbock? Why? The Lord gave me a resounding YES because my calling and gifting has always been to win the lost.” The very first weekend Generations Church met, we had an outreach in a park in an under-privileged part of Lubbock. That day we saw nine people commit their lives to Christ for first time. We have continued to see more people receive God’s love outside our four walls than we have inside them.
In November of 2007, because our congregation had grown, we moved our services to the Science Spectrum. Our Congregation continued to grow as we met there on Sunday mornings and continued our midweek home meetings for over a year.
In February of 2009, the Lord answered our prayers for a space of our own, and we moved into 3838 50th Street. From this location, we had many wonderful opportunities to reach out and touch the city of Lubbock.
In September of 2014, we purchased and owned our first building at 5201 University! We are so excited to see what God will do in and through us in the future. He has given us a physical structure to minister in but we are most excited to see Him build His church, which is US, His people! We have had the joy of continuing to reach outside our church building with the added bonus of a neighborhood of churches who want to build God’s kingdom together.
